Celebrating 100 and 120 Years

Next weekend is the homecoming weekend for Red Deer’s Centennial. As we celebrate that with our neighbours, let us also take an opportunity to celebrate the fact that the Parish of St. Luke, Red Deer is 120 years old this year.

On Saturday afternoon, from 1:00 to 4:00, there will be an open house at St. Luke’s. This event will be in conjunction with the Centennial committee’s Remarkable Red Deer passport to the past program.

Sunday’s 10:00 service will be a little bit old fashioned; BCP liturgy, golden oldie hymns, old school vestments, etc. You are invited to dress up in ways that remind us of where we’ve been in the last 120 years. The 1890’s, the 20’s, 40’s, 70’s, your call. Just try to avoid the 80’s; we’re trying to forget about those fashion trends.
